BoatRun — Terms of Use
Last updated: 19 July 2026
These terms govern your use of BoatRun (Metrics, Analyser, Coach and Viewer). By installing or using any BoatRun app, you agree to these terms.
The service
BoatRun provides rowing performance tracking: live on-water recording, post-session analysis, and squad coaching tools. BoatRun is provided by an independent developer, not affiliated with any boat, watch, or fitness equipment manufacturer.
Your account and data
- Session data is stored locally on your device by default. If you choose to sign in with Google, session backups are stored in your own private Google Drive app folder.
- You are responsible for keeping any device or account you use with BoatRun secure.
- See the Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
Subscriptions (Pro tier)
Some features are offered as a paid "Pro" subscription, purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Where a Pro subscription is offered:
- The subscription length, price, and any free trial period are shown at the point of purchase in the App Store / Play Store listing.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
- Free (basic) tier features remain available permanently without a subscription; a Pro subscription only unlocks additional features on top of the basic tier.
Acceptable use
- Don't use BoatRun in a way that could endanger yourself or others on the water — always prioritise safe boat handling over checking the app.
- Don't attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service's operation.
Disclaimer
BoatRun is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Performance metrics (GPS pace, stroke detection, acceleration data) are estimates derived from phone sensors and may be inaccurate. BoatRun is not a safety device and should not be relied upon for navigation or collision avoidance.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of BoatRun, including loss of data or inaccurate performance metrics.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of BoatRun after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
